ここには明治２１年(1889)から昭和２９年(1955)まで、「広瀬村役場」が置かれていました。 その後、広瀬村と大沢村との合併により「宮城村役場」と名を変え、 ２年後の昭和３１年に移転されるまでの合計６８年間、この場所は愛子の中心としての役割を果たしました。 役場が移転した後も公民館を経て現在ではみやぎ商工会宮城支所として利用されています。 正面の「桜の古木」は、明治２１年「広瀬村役場」の落成時に植えられた桜と言われています。

The Hirose Village Office was located here from 1889 to 1955. After that, Hirose Village and Osawa Village merged to change the name to “Miyagi Village Office”, and this place served as the center of Aiko for a total of 68 years until it was relocated two years later in 1956. . Even after the government office relocated, it has been used as the Miyagi Chamber of Commerce and Industry Miyagi Branch through the public hall. The old cherry tree in the front is said to have been planted when the Hirose Village Office was completed in 1873.
